Elektron Trinity Bundle – The Three-Box Elektron Studio, Wired and Hubbed

Sampler, synth, drums: the Digitakt II, Digitone II and Syntakt are the three Elektron machines that were built to run side by side, sequencing each other over MIDI and sharing one workflow. This bundle delivers all three plus the two pieces that make them a studio rather than a pile – the OH-7 Overhub so all three sit on one USB 3.0 hub, and Outbox 8 so the desk gets individual outputs. It is the complete dawless setup, ordered once.

In This Setup

  • Elektron Digitakt II – 16-track drum machine and sampler with six sample machines and an FM engine.
  • Elektron Digitone II – 16-track, 16-voice polyphonic synth with four engines.
  • Elektron Syntakt – 12-track drum computer: 8 digital, 3 analog, 1 FX track.
  • Elektron Outbox 8 – eight configurable 1/4-inch audio or CV outputs over USB-C.
  • Elektron OH-7 Overhub – 7-port USB 3.0 hub for the whole rig.

Why This Combination

  • Same sequencer language three times: parameter locks, conditional trigs and song mode work identically across all three boxes.
  • Overbridge for all of them: the Overhub keeps three Elektron machines on one host without dropouts.
  • Outputs where they matter: Outbox 8 gives the machine you mix most its own eight jacks; move it between boxes as the track needs.

Set price includes all five products; MIDI and audio cables are sold separately.

Three machines, one clock

Three machines, one clock

Sampler, FM synth and hybrid drum computer, chained over MIDI and sharing one hub.

Three Elektron machines that were designed to sit next to each other: the Digitakt II for samples, the Digitone II for FM and melodic work, and the Syntakt for analogue and digital drums. Each carries the same sequencer language, so patterns, parameter locks and trig conditions transfer between them and one MIDI chain keeps all three in time. The Outbox 8 adds eight assignable outputs and the OH-7 Overhub puts the whole desk on a single host connection.

  • Sampler, FM synth and drum computer in one set
  • MIDI In/Out/Thru with DIN Sync on every machine
  • Eight assignable audio or CV outputs
  • Seven USB 3.0 ports on one host connection
  • Overbridge multitrack from all three
The sampler

Elektron Digitakt II

Sixteen audio tracks and 400 MB of sample memory, with six source machines covering one-shots, time-stretching, repitching, slicing and grid playback. In this rig it usually holds the drums and the sampled material, and clocks the other two.

  • 400 MB of sample memory and over 1,000 sample slots per project
  • Six source machines: Oneshot, Werp, Stretch, Repitch, Slice and Grid
  • 128-step sequencer with parameter locks, trig conditions and per-track pattern length
  • Class-compliant USB audio and Overbridge for multitrack recording into a DAW

The synth

Elektron Digitone II

The drum computer

Elektron Syntakt

Eight digital tracks plus three analogue drum voices and an analogue cymbal voice, with a dedicated FX track. It brings the analogue kicks and hats that the other two machines cannot make.

  • Analogue drum and cymbal voices alongside digital tonal and percussion machines
  • 64-step sequencer with parameter locks, trig conditions and micro timing
  • Analogue overdrive with delay and reverb sends

The outputs

Elektron Outbox 8

Eight configurable 1/4 inch jacks over one USB-C connection. Connected to whichever machine needs its tracks separated, it sends audio to the desk, control voltage to a modular case, or a mix of the two.

  • Eight 1/4 inch impedance-balanced, DC-coupled jacks, each assignable to audio or CV
  • 48 kHz, 32-bit D/A converters
  • CV range of plus/minus 5 V with pitch V/Oct, pitch Hz/V, linear value, trig, gate and clock
  • Class-compliant over USB-C, so a computer, tablet or phone sees an eight-output interface with no drivers
  • 176 x 90 x 28 mm and 0.35 kg, bus-powered from USB-C

Setting it up

  1. Chain the machines over MIDI: Digitakt II MIDI Out to Digitone II MIDI In, then Digitone II MIDI Thru to Syntakt MIDI In.
  2. Set the Digitakt II as the clock master and the other two to receive transport and clock.
  3. Connect all three machines to the OH-7 Overhub, and the hub to the computer, so Overbridge sees each one on a stable port.
  4. Connect the Outbox 8 to whichever machine needs separate outputs and assign its eight jacks in-device.
  5. Run the main outputs of the machines that are not on the Outbox 8 straight to the desk or interface.

Questions

Can one Outbox 8 serve all three machines at once?

No. It has a single USB data port, so it connects to one host at a time and its eight outputs come from that machine. Move it to whichever machine needs separate outs, or add a second unit.

Do the three machines stay in sync over MIDI?

Yes. Each has MIDI In, Out and Thru with DIN Sync out, so a chain from one clock master keeps all three locked, with no computer involved.

Do patterns transfer between them?

No, projects are machine-specific. What transfers is the workflow: the same parameter locks, trig conditions, micro timing and pattern length rules apply on all three.

Which one should clock the others?

Any of them can be clock master. Most people use the machine holding the drums, which in this set is usually the Digitakt II or the Syntakt.

Can I record all three into a DAW at once?

Yes. All three are Overbridge enabled and class compliant, so with the Overhub connecting them to one computer each machine streams its tracks separately.

Why a powered hub instead of the ports on a laptop?

Three Overbridge machines plus the Outbox 8 is four stable connections. The OH-7 turns one host port into seven USB 3.0 ports at up to 5 Gbit/s.

Is a case included?

No. This set is the three machines, the Outbox 8 and the Overhub. The Analog Cases Pulse Case fits any one of the three and is sold separately.
